Club President
James A. Reed is a seasoned aviation professional with over 15 years of experience in the aviation industry. As the President of Phantom Five Flying Club, based at Spirit of St. Louis Airport (KSUS), he combines his extensive background in aircraft management with a lifelong passion for aviation. Currently, he is a First Officer 737 at United Airlines.
His vision for Phantom Five is to provide members with safe, reliable, and well-maintained aircraft, coupled with a supportive environment that encourages continuous learning and adventure in the skies.

Membership Criteria

License: Possess at least a Private Pilot License – Single Engine Land.

Experience: A minimum of 100 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) of a powered aircraft.

Evaluation: Successfully complete a check ride with one of our approved check pilots.
