Membership Criteria

License: Possess at least a Private Pilot License – Single Engine Land.

Experience: A minimum of 100 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) of a powered aircraft.

Evaluation: Successfully complete a check ride with one of our approved check pilots.

Membership Process: How to Join Phantom Five
Step 1 – Apply for Membership
Start by completing the membership application form. With only 10 total memberships available, we’re focused on finding pilots who align with our values of safety, respect, and readiness to fly.

Step 2 – Meet the Board
Once we receive your application, we’ll reach out to schedule an interview with a few members of our board. This is your chance to learn about Phantom Five’s structure, expectations, and aircraft access—and our opportunity to learn more about you. Think of this as a two-way conversation. We want to make sure the fit is right for everyone.

Step 3 – Club Orientation + Aircraft Checkout
If approved, you’ll be welcomed into the club and scheduled for a one-on-one orientation. After that, you’ll coordinate with our Chief Flight Instructor to complete your checkout in our Cessna 182.
